PRODUCT DETAILS

The American Heritage Harvest Table Kitchen Island is as beautiful as it is functional. Made from four-inch thick, solid end-grain Northern hard rock maple, its impressive butcher block top will provide years of service. The butcher block is finished with the standard Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax, to seal and protect the wood. The Boos block cream penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in, and allows your board to be used as a cutting surface. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream. The 60" x 30" oval work surface is accessible from all sides, and is more than large enough for any food preparation task. The 4-inch thick maple table top rests atop an ornate base with four round legs and two slatted wood shelves. Three charming wicker baskets resting on a shelf help you keep stored items close at hand, but out of view. Built to last a lifetime, this sturdy and versatile butcher block kitchen island table is sure to become a family heirloom.

The American Heritage Harvest Table Kitchen Island features a 4" thick Northern Hard Rock Maple butcher block with end-grain construction. The end-grain work surface is easy on knives; during cutting or chopping, the end grain wood fibers absorb the impact of the blade, which keeps knives sharper longer. The malleable and forgiving end grain surface is resistant to nicks and gouges, which prevents bacteria from entering the wood, keeps the board looking new longer and increases its longevity. The surface of the Harvest Table Kitchen Island features a Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax that penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream.

John Boos & Co. is firmly committed to managing environmental matters as an integral part of their business practice. Some of the steps they take to accomplish their “green” status include manufacturing wood products that emit far less carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and other gases than processing non-wood substitutes; using only formaldehyde free and low emission formaldehyde gluing processes in manufacturing our butcher blocks; and having active recycling programs in place with 95% of all raw materials, scrap, and even their sawdust recycled as fuel to heat their kilns. Boos’ sawdust is also recycled as livestock bedding for their local agricultural needs.
