The Maple and Cherry Kitchen Island Work Table is made by hand, using a mortise and tenon construction technique that old-world craftsmen have employed for centuries. The unique and functional sugar maple top work surface has a gentle rim on three sides to prevent crumbs or other run away food items from rolling to the floor. The base is made of cherry and features a solid wood dovetail drawer with plenty of room for all the kitchen utensils you use so often. The drawer has a stainless steel pull and rests on European glides which close automatically when the drawer is gently nudged. A slatted lower shelf provides storage for often-used appliances or cookware. An adjustable foot on each leg allows the table to be leveled on uneven floors insuring a solid workstation that won’t rock or wobble when you’re using it. The sugar maple top and cherry base have been hand rubbed with three coats of finish and the table is ready to assemble in minutes, without tools.
