The Cucina D'Amico features a 5-inch thick Northern Hard Rock Maple butcher block with end-grain construction. The end-grain work surface is easy on knives; during cutting or chopping, the end grain wood fibers absorb the impact of the blade, which keeps knives sharper longer. The malleable and forgiving end grain surface is resistant to nicks and gouges, which prevents bacteria from entering the wood, keeps the butcher block looking new longer and increases its longevity. The butcher block is also covered with an oil finish that seals and protects the wood, helping to keep it in top condition.
