This sturdy Commercial Board is constructed of northern hard rock maple and features edge grain construction. The maple has a beautiful edge grain style and the board is reversible, so both sides can be used equally. Hand grips make the board easy to steady or maneuver as needed. Over two inches thick, the Commercial Board provides a hefty surface that is suitable for most any chopping task. The Commercial Board is a favorite of both commercial and residential cooks.
The Commercial Board is finished with the standard Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax, to seal and protect the wood. The Boos block cream penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in, and allows your board to be used as a cutting surface. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream.

John Boos & Co is firmly committed to managing environmental matters as an integral part of their business practice. Some of the steps they take to accomplish their “green” status include manufacturing wood products that emit far less carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and other gases than processing non-wood substitutes; using only formaldehyde free and low emission formaldehyde gluing processes in manufacturing our butcher blocks; and having active recycling programs in place with 95% of all raw materials, scrap, and even their sawdust recycled as fuel to heat their kilns. Boos’ sawdust is also recycled as livestock bedding for their local agricultural needs.
