Like its big brother, the Baby Grand Kitchen Island Workcenter is handsome, solid, and well-made—designed to withstand the rigors of daily use. The butcher block top is one and three-quarters inch thick, with rounded corners to add a soft touch, and a food-safe oil finish that seals and protects the wood. The width of the butcher block top expands by 8 inches when the hefty drop leaf is locked up. Both the drop leaf and the Baby Grand Kitchen Island Workcenter's nine-inch-deep drawer rest on heavy-duty supports. The wine rack holds up to six bottles, and the sturdy slatted shelf at bottom is perfect for stowing bulky items you don't want to haul out of a cabinet. Three chrome-finish towel bars let you keep dish-rags or utensils within easy reach. The Baby Grand Kitchen Island Workcenter sits on four caster wheels, two of which lock, so you can move it with ease and be sure it will stay secure when positioned.
